The proposed development is located on the Wayne State University Campus in the area bounded by Putnam Avenue to the north, Woodward Avenue to the east, Warren Avenue to the south and Cass Avenue to the west. The total project includes three separate buildings and associated site improvements including a parking deck, welcome center facility and bookstore. HH Engineering was retained by the joint venture of Rossetti Associates Architects and Hamilton Anderson Associates to prepare site engineering and utility plans for the proposed Wayne State University development. Our scope included design and plan preparation for the abandonment and relocation of all sewer and water mains within the property boundary, as well as design of all necessary utility extensions and installations to serve the three new buildings. Because many of the utilities were located within existing city owned alley ROW that was being abandoned, all sewer and water main design and plan preparation required approval by the City of Detroit Department of Water and Sewerage. In addition to the utility work, HH Engineering Ltd. was responsible for site grading and drainage design, as well as road improvements necessary to provide vehicular and pedestrian access to the buildings both within the property and on city streets around the perimeter of the site. |

HH Engineering Ltd. was retained by Hamilton Anderson Associates and Rossetti Architects to prepare the site engineering documents required for the development of the proposed $ 350 million Compuware World Headquarters to be located within the Campus Martius redevelopment in the area of downtown Detroit bordered by Woodward Avenue, Michigan Avenue, Fort Street, Cadillac Square and Monroe Avenue. HH Engineering’s work included design of all necessary utility abandonments, extensions and installations including sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer to serve the proposed 16 story office building and adjacent parking garage. In addition, HH Engineering’s responsibilities included design and preparation of construction documents for road improvements necessary to facilitate the Compuware Development. As a part of the project, two levels of underground parking from the proposed office tower will be tied directly to the lower two levels of the underground parking in the adjacent parking garage. This necessitated the total reconstruction of Farmer Street and the abandonment and/or relocation of all the utilities within the Farmer Street Right of Way between Gratiot and Monroe. In addition, due to the complexity and fast track nature of the project, significant interface was required with Hamilton Anderson Associates and Rossetti Architects as well as with City of Detroit Departments including the Department of Water and Sewerage and the Engineering Department. |
